eBay 101

I recently purchased a "set" of our Section SR 6 Conclave items on eBay for $51.01. I didn’t need any of the items, but it was just too good of a deal to pass up.

I sold them on eBay as individuals items. Instead of 1 auction with 7 different items, I sold them in 7 separate individual sales.

The sale ended. All 7 of the items sold.

Total: $188.03 total!

The Ceremonies Staff patch alone sold for $71.00. Now to make things even better, I had an extra one, and sold it as a "Second Chance Offer" to the next highest bidder for $70.00.

I’m not keeping any of the money though. All $258.03 will go to Kawida Lodge.

The lesson here is to not sell stuff in a "set".

Ever wonder how all of the big time dealers make their money? They buy large bulk sales and then piece it out. Not a bad business.

Trail Hiker Values

This Kawida Lodge "Trail Hiker" patch sold today on eBay for $205. It is in poor condition and the red border is gone.

This used "Trail Hiker" recently sold for $285. It has been sewn and washed, but in much better condition than the above.

Devin Porter, Eagle Scout

The Lonesome Pine District conducted an Eagle Scout Board of Review tonight at the First Presbyterian Church in Pikeville, KY. Glen Felty, Mike Shepherd, Jearl Stiltner, and I had the opportunity to question and review Life Scout, Devin Porter.

He passed with flying colors! Devin is also a Triple Crown of High Adventure winner, as he has attended Philmont, Sea Base, and Northern Tier.

Devin Porter is the final Webelos Scout from my old Den 4 days in Pack 12, to attain the rank of Eagle Scout. It just seems like yesterday, that we were meeting in the Art room over at the Elementary School.

National Jamboree Set

The new Blue Grass Council-Kawida Lodge 2010 National Jamboree set was for sale over the weekend at the Ordeal. This is an extremely nice set that should trade well this summer at Fort A.P. Hill.
