More New Leadership

Alex Hill, new Section Vice Chief, and Aaron Shepherd, new Section Secretary, take the oath of office from Mitchell Saulsbury, the new Section Chief, today at the Council of Chiefs meeting at Boxwell Scout Reservation. Recently, Kawida Lodge has had 2 Section Secretary positions, 1 Section Vice Chief, 1 Section Chief, and a Region Chief.

New Leadership

Hugh B. Hall, Jr. has accepted the Scoutmaster position of Troop 12 tonight,
after Kevin Auton decided to be an Assistant Scoutmaster.

Kevin has done an outstanding job and his leadership will be greatly missed.

We had 19 of 20 Boy Scouts at tonight's meeting.
The Troop is growing and great things are to come.

A New Level Of Consciousness

We had a good Troop meeting tonight. Working on an Indian themed ceremony for the Webelos Cross Over.

I noticed something new about myself tonight. During the meeting, I had my back to the rehearsal and never really watched, but listened. I could literally see everything that was going on.

I'm sure that over the years Scouting becomes 2nd nature, but it sure hit me tonight.

Very cool.

Spring is just around the corner.

100 Years Ago Today

100 years ago today, the Boy Scouts of America began. There aren't many groups that have stood the test of time, but we have, and I'm proud to be a small part of it.

I can't imagine what the next 100 years will be like? Maybe in 2110, someone will figure out how to read old style computer HTML and JPEG images and read this Blog and say, "Wow, that was old school". To the future, I will say this:

Just drive the spaceship and follow the instructions in the hologram manual for Scouting!
