Only 1 Vote

June 30th Executive Board Meeting.  Photo by T. Alex Hill
I like this picture.  It is intense.  Look at all of the body language.  Many knowledgeable adults working together to determine the future of Scouting in 55 counties.

It was a close vote.  19 to 18 not to merge with Louisville.

I want to thank everyone who voted.  I especially want to thank our young adults:

1.  Don Combs, III - Your leadership through this whole process was tremendous.
2.  William Goff - You took time away from work to live stream most of the meeting.
3.  T. Alex Hill - Your photo and social media posts kept us all informed.
4.  Nathan Vick - Your comments on social media were spot on!
5.  Aaron Reynolds - Your vote as Lodge Chief, in my opinion, was the deciding vote.

Prism Day #4

Heading down to the Summit Circle.
Our Kawida stone looks right at home.
The gateway from the past and the future.
Photos do not do this place justice.  You have to see it.
The big rock at the Summit Circle.
Heading back home.
A great group!
As Arrowmen, we learned that we are the "prism".  We take an unassuming light and turn it in to a spectrum of colors.

PRISM at the Summit Bechtel Reserve

Once again, I am humbled to be 1 of 2 adults, and 6 chosen youth members from Kawida Lodge to attend the PRISM event at the Summit Bechtel Reserve.  There was a lottery, and 2 of our youth won the chance to attend also.  Talk about lucky!  So now I shall gas up the van and the 10 of us will make the trip to beautiful West Virginia to have a day of fun, a day of service, and be a part of history.

"The defining experience of Prism will be the inaugural re-dedication ceremony at the newly constructed Summit Circle.  The ceremony will provide you with a glimpse of what the future holds for the O.A. and how you can impact the direction it takes.  As you ponder your role, you will be surrounded by remnants of Treasure Island Scout Reservation’s original ceremony circle where Dr. Goodman once stood, as well as a commemoration of our legacy lodge rocks, granting you a chance to reflect on our past.  As a Prism participant, you will be one of the first Arrowmen to experience the new national ceremonial grounds and serve as a guide into a new century of brotherhood, cheerfulness and service."

"Prepare yourself for a program that will give you a new perspective on the O.A.  Just as light passes through a prism and transforms into a full spectrum of light, you too will transform and experience the full spectrum of the Order of the Arrow at Prism."
