Philmont Finally!

Up early. Breakfast at the hotel. Tim Dowling , head of Main Event Transportation meets us and takes us out to Philmont on a very nice coach bus. We are the only ones aboard.

We arrive at 10:30 am and get briefed, meet our Ranger, Jared Wicks, from Illinois, get a tent in "Tent City", get gear, food, and all of the other basic check in stuff.

We are among friends here! Tom and Haydon Cardiff, Russ Tucker, several from our World Jamboree Troop, and a girl in the health lodge from Salyersville.

We review our food and equipment and our Ranger Jared reviews with us what we need and what we don't need.

We all attend a very nice opening campfire.
