The Lonesome Pine District convened tonight for our monthly Roundtable meeting. Big crowd. Even some special surprise guests from Lexington. Glen and Linda Leach, Lynn Beech, and Fred Justus made the trip down the Mountain Parkway to honor one of our very own, Art Leach.Art will be 84 in May and has been an active leader for 54 years. Vigil Honor in 1969, Silver Beaver in 1974, and attended the '64 and '69 National Jamborees. One of the greats! We presented him with a "Lifetime Achievement Award" with one of the 2010 watches. He was surprised.
Ralph Mullins also received the Whitney M. Young, Jr. Award and Dave Heintzelman was awarded Scoutmaster of the Year.
We also had time for some Roundtable discussions, but tonight was Art Leach's night and is well deserved.
