Queen's Jubilee

Hi Barry,

I am pleased it arrived all in one piece! You did ask for the badges so when I saw the other items that came as a package - I thought why not it's history! Not every day does the monarch achieve sixty years on the throne! Victoria and George III are the last. You don't have to send me anything.

The small badge goes on your uniform (Scouts and Guides), the larger is a blanket badge. The coin every Scout and school child will receive from Scouting and the Government (its a tradition here - I still have mine from 1977). The set of three badges are from the previous Jubilee's.

It's been pretty busy in preparation. One of my lads achieved his Queen Scout's Award (your Eagle) so we went to the St.Georges Day Parade at Windsor Castle for the presentation. He was quite chuffed as The Queen took the parade this year and had a little chat with him! It was the Diamond Jubilee Pageant at Windsor the other weekend, we are on duty over the Jubilee weekend in London, (we have two extra days Public holiday so finish work on Friday 1st and don't go back until wednesday 6th) and afterwards we have the Beating the Retreat Ceremony on Horse Guards. Then it's the Olympics! It's going to be an amazing summer for London.
