"Special Sponsor Patch" for those adults who donated. Only 10 made!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't remember exactly when the Midnight Club started? The idea of a handful of adults staying up late and talking at Kawida Lodge events, even though we were beyond tired, produced many great tales and laughter. We always adjourned the meeting at midnight. The running joke was that the Council would be mailing everyone who attended a special patch.
This year, it seems that a handful of adults were asked to contribute financially to make a special Midnight Club patch, in turn they would get a "Special Sponsor Patch".
Unfortunately, I haven't been as active in the Lodge this year and was unable to attend this year's Fall Fellowship. In a way, I'm glad that I didn't.
I have always been a strong believer that all Kawida patches should be available to all members regardless of power, position, or money.
In the past, incidents like this have caused tremendous disruptions in our Lodge and many others. Exclusive hats, T-shirts, coins, etc. are fine, but the threads were always sacred.
It is no secret that I love collecting patches, but not this way. When members of the LEC, or any other youth or adult member ask "How can I get one of those with the white T-bird, little dipper, and tomahawk?" What are we going to tell them? What example are we setting?
In my absence, my teachings and beliefs have failed me.
